Story Text: THE FRENCH DRILLING RIG, NEPTUNE ONE, WAS RESCUED IN THE NORTH SEA TODAY (TUESDAY). IT HAD BEEN IN DANGER OF BEING SWEPT INTO THE DUTCH COAST AFTER BREAKING ITS TWO LINES IN HEAVY SEAS AND STRONG WINDS.
A BRITISH TUG, THE LADY ANN, AND TWO OTHER TUGS, WERE ABLE TO PUT LINES ABOARD THE RIG AND AS SOON AS THE WEATHER SETTLES WILL TRY TO TOW IT BACK TO HOLLAND FOR REPAIRS.
THE RIG, OF 550 TONS, WAS BEING TAKEN TO A POSITION OFF THE BRITISH COAST WHEN IT BROKE LOOSE.
