Summary:The Bank of Credit and Commerce International (BCCI) was indicted on 29 July in New York on charges of running the largest bank fraud in financial history. BCCI and its two founders, Agha Hasan Abedi from Pakistan and Swaleh Naqvi from Abu Dhabi, were charged with defrauding depositors of at least five billion U.S. dollars. Their extradition from their respective countries is being sought.
