Summary:Freed British hostage Jack Mann was reunited with his wife Sunnie early on September 25 in Damascus. Mann could barely stand or speak after being brought to the Syrian capital from Beirut, where he had been held for 865 days by the pro-Iranian Revolutionary Justice Organisation. Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir expressed his happiness for Mann and hinted that the release had put back on track a U.N.-brokered exchange of Western hostages for Arab prisoners held by Israel.
