Summary:US Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas on October 11 denied under oath that he ever sexually harassed former aide Anita Hill. Speaking at the opening of an extraordinary public inquiry by the U.S. Senate's Judiciary Committee, the 43-year old Thomas said reporters were trying to spread dirt about him and unnamed people were spreading preposterous rumours.Hill restated under oath her sexual harassment charges against Thomas and said he talked to her about sex acts and his prowess as a lover. President Bush expressed full confidence in Thomas, who was finally sworn in as an associate justice of the US Supreme Court on October 18.
