Title:Yugoslavia: Federal Army Units Withdraw From Breakaway Republic Of Slovenia
Date:22nd October 1991
Summary:Federal army forces have been peacefully withdrawing from the breakaway Yugoslav republic of Slovenia by sea because land routes are still blocked by continued fighting in Croatia. On October 22 the Deputy Interior Minister of Slovenia said it was not surprising the army was pulling out as defections were increasing and they had few weapons. The withdrawal leaves the republic virtually independent and unmolested by the Serbian-led federal forces.
