Summary:The UN Security Council voted on March 31 for an air and arms embargo on Libya by April 15 unless it hands over suspects wanted for the bombings of US & French airliners. The resolution calls on Libya to surrender two men indicted for the 1988 bombing of a PanAm plane over Lockerbie and to cooperate with an investigation into the bombing of a French airliner over Niger in 1989. A total of 441 people died in the bombings.
