- Story Text: U.S. navy ship, the Bainbridge arrived at Kenya's Mombasa port early on Thursday (April 16) amid tight security, with FBI and U.S. marines standing guard as the ship docked.
The Bainbridge helped rescue the Maersk Alabama's Captain Richard Phillips on Sunday (April 12).
U.S. snipers killed three Somali pirates and freed Phillips, who had been held hostage by the pirates on a lifeboat for five days.
It was not immediately clear if Phillips was still on board the Bainbridge.
On Tuesday (April 12), the Bainbridge came to the rescue of another US-flagged freighter, Liberty Sun, which was attacked by pirates while on its way to Mombasa to deliver food aid. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
