Nasrin is herself subject to a fatwah - a call for her to be killed issued by Islamic fundamentalist clerics. The Bangladeshi author was speaking in Copenhagen, where the United Nations Poverty Summit was being held. Nasrin said Islamic fundamentalists were trying to stop the work of Non-Government Organisations (NGOs) in her country.
