- Story Text: INTRO: At least 60 people have died in a plane crash in Cambodia. Most of those on board were foreigners of various nationalities. Officials have said four people survived the crash, near the capital Phnom Penh, of the Vietnam Airlines flight.
-------------------------------------------------------------------- It is unclear what caused flight VN815, from Ho Chi Minh City, in southern Vietnam, to crash only 300 metres from the runway.
An official at Phnom Penh's Pochentong airport said the Tupolev Tu-134 was carrying 60 passengers and a crew of six. Vietnam Airlines said in Ho Chi Minh City that there were 67 passengers on board and three crew.
A baby, a young child and two men appeared to have survived the crash and were taken to hospital in Phnom Penh's city centre.
Cambodian Secretary of State for Aviation Pok Sam El said apart from the survivors all other passengers had been killed. "They are all dead," he said.
Most passengers on board the plane were foreigners, including Australians, Japanese, Americans and Canadians. At least nine South Koreans, including six members of a medical team, were amongst them. They came from a teaching hospital in south-west Cholla province, in South Korea.
