- Story Text: British comedian Russell Brand and U.S. pop singer Katy Perry stayed behind closed doors on Sunday (October 24), a day after they married at a luxury resort in India.
Media gathered outside the site, seeking pictures of the celebrity couple or other guests staying at the Amaan-i-Khas resort in the deeply wooded Ranthambore National Park, a tiger reserve some 100 kilometres south of the fort city of Jaipur.
Trucks loaded with leftovers from the previous night's party were packed into trucks along with tents, curtains and other props.
Private security guards, black screens and a mobile phone ban ensured a veil of security shrouded the wedding from unwanted eyes after exclusive publicity rights were sold to a magazine.
There were minor altercations between the media and security.
On Friday (October 22), a Reuters witness said four photographers were attacked by a member of Brand's security detail while trying to take pictures of the groom-to-be on a safari trip.
The couple, who landed in Mumbai on Thursday (October 21), reportedly chose the resort for their wedding after Brand proposed to Perry at the same location last December. Perry wore an Indian bridal nose ring as she passed through the airport. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
