- Story Text: Australia qualified for the semi-final stages of the Indira Gandhi Gold Cup tournament on Thursday (February 9) with a 3-1 defeat of South Africa in the final Group B match.
In the other Group B match South Korea, who had already qualified for the semi-finals, thrashed Poland 7-3.
Poland went ahead in the 11th minute through Bukaszewski Slawomir but South Korea equalised six minutes later through Park Shin-Heum.
Keon Wook-Kang made it 2-1 after 22 minutes and Shin-Heum pushed the South Koreans to 3-1 in the 27th minute.
Poland brought the score back to 3-2 thanks to Radoskaw Klockowski after 40 minutes but the Koreans' lead was back to two goals when Seok Kyo-Shin struck just two minutes later.
Seung Tae-Song made it 5-2 in the 46th minute and it was 6-2 a minute later when Moon Ki-Yoo struck.
Slawomir scored from a penalty stroke 52 minutes into the match but the rout was completed when Myung Jun-Cho got the seventh after 70 minutes.
Australia were quick off the mark against South Africa, scoring in the second minute through Damien Seeto but the match stayed goalless for 35 minutes until South Africa's Giles Bonnet equalised.
Darren Duff put the Australians ahead after 57 minutes and just two minutes later Glen Kingston ensured Australia would be in the final four.
