- Story Text: London's Wembley Stadium is playing host to the Rolling Stones first live performances in the United Kingdom for five years.
Seventy thousand people packed the stadium for the first of three London concerts, part of the band's ongoing Voodoo Lounge world tour.
And the band is certainly not "past it" according to Bob Geldof, Britt Ekland and other celebrities attending the first concert. They were entertained by go-go dancers, snakes and magicians at a special "Voodoo Lounge" set up near the stadium.
The European leg of the group's ongoing Voodoo Lounge world tour began in Stockholm on June 3. It will take in 25 cities and play to an estimated two million people before finishing in Germany on August 22. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
