- Story Text: The former star of the television show "Quantum Leap," Scott Bakula, has made the leap to a big-screen starring role in "Lord of Illusions", the latest film from horror master Clive Barker.
Bakula playes Harry D'Amour, the popular character from Barker's novels. D'Amour is a modern-day New York private eye who constantly finds himself getting into cases involving the supernatural. He's a throwback to the classic fictional private eyes of the 1940's and 50's.
Aside from his many novels, Barker is best known for his series of "Hellraiser" movies. Bakula starred in the hit telelvision show "Quantum Leap" but he has also been featured in movies, including the Bruce Willis thriller, "Color of Night." Bakula's co-star in "Lord of Illusions" is Famke Jansen, who recently just finished working on the newest James Bond movie, "Goldeneye" starring Pierce Brosnan.
The story of "Lord of Illusions" details the efforts of a terrifying cult to revive its long-dead leader, Nix. Harry gets involved when he's employed by Jansen's character, who fears Nix will come after her and her husband Philip Swann (played by Kevin J. O'Connor), who had clashed with the cult in the past. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
