  • Story Text: About 70,000 revellers have gathered in London's Wembley Stadium for the "Songs and Visions" concert, a musical extravaganza celebrating the last forty years of popular music.

    Performers including Rod Stewart, Chaka Khan, Toni Braxton, Jon Bon Jovi, Seal, k.d. lang, Steve Winwood, Robert Palmer, Mary J.

    Blige and Japan's Eikichi Yazawa gathered in the stadium to sing the greatest hits of the last forty years.

    The show was organised by "Tribute", the producers of six of the world's largest international television music events, including "The Mandela Tribute", Pink Floyd's "The Wall" and "The Great Music Experience" in Japan.

    The concert was also seen by an estimated 500 million people around the world. Sixty countries broadcast the show, either live or in delayed telecasts, making it one of the largest musical events of the decade.

    The concert was broadcast on radio in 25 other countries.
