- Story Text: "Vibrations," the ultimate "Rock"-guitar band - from Gibraltar release their second album this month - a unique sound reflecting their unique home - combining influences from 'The Rock,' Spain and North Africa.
Gibraltarian rock band Vibrations are set to release their second album this month (November 16) appropriately enough entitled, "Vibrations 2".
The band have now been going strong - in various guises - for over eleven years - their unique rock and classical sound relecting Gibraltar's extraordinarily diverse culture - perched as 'The Rock' is, on the edge of Europe, just a few short miles from North Africa.
Lead guitarist William Gomez has been the driving force behind Vibrations.
A classicaly trained guitarist, tutored by the legendary Andres Segovia and Narciso Yepes, Gomez started playing the bars and clubs of Gibraltar and started picking up band members as he went, a diverse group with rock and classical training.
He and the band love to play up-beat guitar-based rock, with a sprinkling of Johan Sebastian Bach.
Over the years they've appeared in concert with the London Philharmonic, Paco de Lucia and George Benson.
They also perform twice yearly at St.Michael's Cave in Gibraltar where audiences of cruise passengers from all over the world enjoy their music in a breathtaking fashion.
