- Story Text: Pop Music diva, Janet Jackson, performed her first concert on the African continent on Saturday (November 14) in the southern-most city of Cape Town to a crowd of 30,000 fans.
Janet Jackson's show, filled with two hours of non-stop music and fantastically choreographed dance movements, wowed the audience and proved why she is one of the most popular performers in the world.
This was her first concert on the South African leg of her Velvet Rope World Tour, built around her 1977 album, The Velvet Rope.
Highlights of the concert included "You" which is classic Janet and "If", which is only one of her 18 gold singles.
Janet has recorded more gold certified singles than any female artist in history and has won more music awards in the R & B and Pop categories than she can probably count.
She will be performing on Wednesday in Durban and on Friday in Johannesburg. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
