The film Godzilla is Toho's best known asset....and for over forty years...about the time Mr Matsuoka has been at the company...has been one of Japan's best known and best loved movies.
It was Matsuoka who oversaw a deal where Hollywood's Sony studio took up the rights to produce a Godzilla movie in the United States. In return, Toho would get royalties from new Godzilla goods and they would be able to take the movie to their theatres in Japan.
