- Story Text: While contenders are competing for the official Palme d'Or, pornographic stars are preparing for a rather provocative ceremony the "Hot d'Or Awards".
Simultaneously, sexy girls were posing for photographers on the beach in Cannes.
Pornographic stars made a special appearance on Tuesday (May 18) at the Royal Casino hotel in Mandelieu La Napoule, only a few miles from Cannes, a day before the "Hot d'Or"
ceremony.
Girls revealing plenty of flash posed for photographers who were not used to see such racy scenes.
Pornography plays an increasingly prominent role at the Cannes Film Festival.The Palme d'Or is mirrored by the Hot d'Or award which is very popular.
Jolly Golden, a starlet, said that there is only one cinema and that pornographic movies are part of it.
"As people (Cannes Film Festival officials) do not want us, do not want to present porno movies...we will have our own festival" she said.
Worldwide pornographic production companies are trying to present a more responsible image and producers are also in Cannes to dispel the myth that their only customers are the dirty brigade.
The 8th edition of the "Hot d'Or" ceremony will take place on Wednesday (May 19) with the election of the best American and European actor, the best movie, the best director.
