- Story Text: Preparations are underway at the legendary French 16th century Mill restaurant, Le Moulin de Mougins, near Cannes, for the sixth annual Cinema Against AIDS benefit event to be held on Thursday night (May 20).The American Foundation for AIDS Research (amfAR) party is to be attended by the charity's founding Chairman, Elizabeth Taylor who will host the star-studded event.
Sponsored this year by Geneva jewellers Chopard and Miramax Fims, the evening will commence with a private screening of the new film "My Life So Far" produced by David Puttnam and Steve Norris and directed by Hugh Hudson. The film stars British actor Colin Firth and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio along with Ben Affleck, Minnie Driver, Linda Fiorentino and Salma Hayek, all of whom are expected to attend the charity event.
Afterwards guests will arrive at Le Moulin de Mougins in the hills above Cannes for a gala dinner, the menu for which has been created by one of France's best known chef's Roger Verge, owner of Le Moulin de Mougins and is set to include asparagus, monkfish and veal.Silent and live auctions for the event are to be overseen by the auctioneers, Christie's.
