- Story Text: British pop star Robbie Williams treated the press to more than they bargained for when he dropped his pants - again - ahead of his first sample performance of tracks from his new album, "Sing When You're Winning". Appearing in Cologne, Germany 'the Robster' could be seen live on the internet by thousands of fans worldwide.
Williams arrived at the site of the concert, the Cologne Sports and Olympic Museum, by lifeboat on the Rhine River.
Thousands of fans had gathered on the Severins Bridge nearby to see their idol present his new album, "Sing When You're Winning."
About 400 invited guests and 2,500 fans experienced the concert live, while millions more worldwide had the opportunity to see Williams dropping his pants and swinging his hips into their homes via the internet.
RTL New Media, a subsidiary of Germany's largest private television station, made the Cologne concert possible.
Before taking the stage, Williams showed off his tiger-print underwear to the press, and talked about his relationships with other British pop stars including Liam and Noel Gallagher of Oasis, and former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell, reportedly his latest girlfriend in a British tabloid frenzy, after they holidayed together in the South of France.
But Williams denies that means they're an 'item'.
"We are just two people who really understand each other, she doesn't want to go out with me because I'm a slag,"
Williams said.
Williams called Noel Gallagher a mean spirited nasty little dwarf, but admitted that, "He is entitled to his opinion, and I'm entitled to mine."
The only difference is that people are interested in mine, he added.
Robbie Williams fans will have to wait another two weeks before they can send the new album to the top of the charts.
It will be in stores on August 28. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
