- Story Text: Film star Sean Connery, in Prague filming his latest movie, took time out on-set to talk to the press about the impact the devastating floods have had.
The worst floods in a century in Prague in the Czech Republic have seen more than 50,000 people evacuated and have brought film production to a halt in a city that has become a favourite location for many U.S. films.
Sean Connery, who is shooting 20th Century Fox's "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen," was forced out of the riverside Four Seasons hotel on Tuesday.
" I was in a hotel right adjacent to the water, and one could see it rising, one did a very quick analysis how treacherous it was because it was coming from Bohemia, and had to release water from the dams and the water was rising and all this fantastic view that I was admiring was suddenly becoming a disaster, and it was rising and rising. They had to release the water because it was logged up in the dams, and it's a catch 22 situation, there's no way out."
Connery was moved by the situation to call a press conference to help draw the disaster to international attention. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
