- Story Text: Rock star Sting played a concert in Jerusalem on Sunday (September 18) as part of a tour that will take him to Israel and South Africa.
Sting has previously declined to visit those countries because of his opposition to their political positions.
Speaking before a concert at Jerusalem's Sultan Pool, Sting said he was happy to be in Israel, and it was his belief that things in the Middle East were moving in the right direction. He said he was also looking forward to a visit to South Africa. He added thatboth countries were opening up, something he supported.
Sting will also visit Sardinia during the tour.
