-------------------------------------------------------------------- King Hussein was greeted at the Elysee Palace when he arrived with Queen Noor on Thursday (June 12). Hussein and Chirac were expected to discuss the stalled Middle East peace process and bilateral issues.
On Wednesday, King Hussein said in the Hague that the United States remained the key player in Arab-Israeli mediation, but the European Union should perform a complementary role in the Middle East peace process.
Hussein also commended the Netherlands, which currently holds the six-month rotating EU presidency, for what he called its "principled stands and its search for peace".
