- Story Text: Foreign Minister Jean Keutcha headed a four man delegation from Cameroon which arrived in Addis Ababa on Sunday (4 January) to attend the Organisation of African Unity (OAU) Ministerial Conference due to begin on Thursday (8 January).
Mr. Keutcha's Ethiopian counterpart, Ato Kefele Wodajoe, and OAU Assistant Secretary-General Peter Onu were at the airport to greet the visiting party.
The Foreign Ministers conference will precede a special CAU summit meeting on the crisis in Angola, which is scheduled to begin on Saturday (10 January).
Mr. Keutcha gave a brief news conference at the airport terminal and told newsmen that the coming week would be a vital one for the OAU and for Africa itself.
He also raised the role the OAU has played in trying to determine a formula for a peaceful solution to the Angolan situation.
SYNOPSIS: A four man delegation from the Cameroon arrive in Addis Ababa on Sunday to attend the Organisation of African Unity (OAU) Ministerial conference beginning on Thursday. Ethiopian Foreign Minister Ato kefele Wodajoe and OAU Assistant Secretary-General peter Onu were at the airport to greet the Cameroon party. Cameroon Foreign Minister, Jean Keutcha led the delegation. Thursday's Foreign Minister's meeting will precede a special OAU summit meeting on the crisis in Angola. The summit is expected to get underway on Saturday (10 January).
The Foreign Ministers were originally scheduled to meet during the second week of last December, but their discussions were postponed to be closer to the summit.
Mr. Keutcha held a brief news conference on his arrival, in the airport terminal.
He told reporters that the coming week in Addis Ababa would be a vital one for both the OAU and Africa itself. He also praised the OAU's role in trying to determine a peaceful and acceptable solution to the problems of Angola.
