- Story Text: Hollywood star Bruce Willis took a break from acting to pick up a harmonica and sing the blues with his hand-picked band during the Berlin International Film Festival on Saturday night (February 24).
The 40-year-old star of movie "Die Hard" was introduced to fans by wife and fellow film star Demi Moore as frontman to the six-piece U.S. group "The Accelerators".
Willis, whose new film "Twelve Monkeys" failed to clinch the prestigious Golden Bear at the festival, delighted and surprised the audience with his gravelly voice during the midnight concert.
Willis, who once admitted "Frank Sinatra sings, I holler loudly in key", will appear in Britain at London's venue the Forum on March 2 for a one-off gig.
Willis personally chose his band members three years ago after touring bars, clubs and studios in the United States. The actor, who has earned an estimated 50 million U.S. dollars during his film career, frequently sings at launches of Planet Hollywood restaurants in which he is a major shareholder.
His album, Return of Bruno, was slammed by critics on its release in 1987. Willis followed that up with a release of the Drifters "Under The Board Walk", supported by The Temptations.
Before beginning his acting career in the mid 1970s, Willis played saxophone in rhythm and blues band Loose Goose in New York. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
