- Story Text: British virtual band Gorillaz held their first concert in Lebanon on Tuesday (June 20) as part of Byblos music festival.
Thousands of fans gathered in the historical port of Byblos where the stage was set up.
"Gorillaz are like timeless musicians. So, their songs, you can hear them three or five years later so they still great and it's great for them to be here in Lebanon," Alex, a Lebanese Gorillaz fan told Reuters Television after the concert.
The group was created by Blur frontman Damon Albarn and comic book artist Jamie Hewlett.
The Gorillaz members are known for being virtual characters never appear in their videos.
Lebanon is the first stop in Gorillaz first ever world tour "The Escape to Plastic Beach".
"They were amazing, people were happy and they were happy, the dance the songs everything was great, thank you Byblos," said fan Sandra said after the concert.
Several international music festivals have kicked off in Lebanon this year with many international artists participating that included British-Lebanese pop artist Mika, Diana Krall, the Gorrillaz, and Pink Martini. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
