  • Story Text: British rock star Phil Collins married his former
    interpreter Orianne Cevey on Saturday in an exclusive ceremony
    in Lausanne, Switzerland.

    The couple had already taken part in a civil ceremony
    away from media glare on Friday in nearby Begnins,
    Switzerland, the town where they have lived for the past few years.

    On Saturday evening, reporters waited outside the Beau
    Rivage, one of Switzerland's smartest hotels, as the couple
    arrived in a light grey Rolls Royce for a formal exchange of
    vows before some 300 guests.

    Cevey, holding champagne-coloured roses, worked to keep
    from being engulfed in a long white veil, Collins at her side.

    Asked if he was nervous, Collins told reporters: "not at all."
    Invitations were reportedly sent to other rock luminaries
    including Eric Clapton and Elton John.Grand Prix racing
    legend Jackie Stewart was seen arriving among the guests.

    The reception was private but some fans showed up anyway,
    hoping to glimpse Collins, 48, and his bride, 27, the daughter
    of a Swiss architect.

    Cevey has a public relations firm and met Collins while
    working as his interpreter when he visited Switzerland a few years ago.

    According to a copy of a menu circulated among press, the
    wedding banquet featured gazpacho of lobster, veal saddle, a
    dessert buffet and the obligatory cake.Discreet hotel staff
    declined to divulge details beyond denying a press report that
    the couple paid $70,000 to rent the whole hotel for the weekend.

    "Why do people care?" said one hotel manager.

    It is the third marriage for Collins, who shot to fame as
    lead singer and drummer of the rock band Genesis.He left the
    band in 1995 after a series of hits for a solo career.
