- Story Text: President Idi Amin of Uganda arrived in Addis Ababa on Friday (15 June) from Cairo on his way home after his visit to North Africa.
When the Ugandan leader stepped from his jet, he was given a red-carpet welcome by Emperor Hails Selassie, and also welcomed by Ethiopia's Prime Minister Aklilu Habte Wold and high-ranking officials.
The two Heads of State took the salute of a Guard of Honour, then drove to the Jubilee Palace, where the President will stay.
It's not known how long President Amin will be in Addis Ababa, and there's still no officials reason given for his visit.
