- Story Text: Some 20,000 young rock music fans flocked to the fourth show in the Pepsi Music festival in Buenos Aires on Monday (October 10). Fans were treated to shows on three different stages, while bands like 'Los Autnticos Decadentes' had crowds singing and dancing as the sun went down.
With spring in the air, fans were treated to top local bands as the evening wore on. According to one rock music fan, Noelia, the band to watch was Ataque 77. "I liked 'Los Decadentes'. They did a really good show, but I am waiting for Ataque 77," she explained. But fellow rock fan Pablo disagreed. "Los Autnticos Decadentes were the best. The show they did was spectacular!" he enthused.
At the open-air stage, 'Ataque 77' followed 'Los Autnticos Decadentes' and kept the crowd entranced until the arrival of local superstars Babasonicos, who closed the night.
The show is part of the ten-day Pepsi Music Festival, which kicked off on Friday (October 7) with 'Los Piojos' as the headliners. Local band 'Bersuit' followed on the second day, with 'Megadeth' headlining the third day. The festival, which is taking place in Buenos Aires' Obras Sanitarias, boasts three stages and more than 100 national and international groups.
As part of stepped up security in the wake of Buenos Aires' Cromagnon club fire, some 250 security personnel have been employed as well as 15 volunteer firemen, 20 firefighters and two fire engines. Some 130 police are also attending.
The best of Argentine rock will be making an appearance over the ten-day festival, with legendary Luis Alberto Spinetta in line for the closing show on Sunday (October 10). - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
