- Story Text: Indonesian police found the body of 33-year-old Japanese tourist, Rika Sano, in a bush near Kuta beach on Monday (September 28) with her personal belongings scattered near her body.
Police transported the half-naked body to a local hospital in Denpasar where it will undergo an autopsy.
"The body is a Japanese woman. The cause of death is unknown and we will let you know when the autopsy is completed," said Bali Police's Head of Crime, Wilmar Marpaung.
Police said Sano went missing from her hotel last Friday (September 25).
Local media reported the Bali Prani Hotel's staff told police she checked in on Thursday (September 24) with a female companion and an unidentified local man.
The case is being handled by the Crime and Detective Unit of the Denpasar Metropolitan Police.
