- Story Text: The "Rice Bra" from Triumph, maker of the eco, solar, and recyclable bra transforms the standard bra into a rice paddy.
Bra straps are tied to plastic pots to create the cups of this rice-growing bra. A water hose with seedlings attached acts as the belt. The lingerie even comes with farming gloves so those wearing it can get right to work.
"The bra fits much better than it looks. Wearing it puts me in such a fun mood," said Reiko Aoyama who modeled the full set of the bra.
The "rice bra" is the latest in a series of eccentric lingerie Triumph has released. Company spokeswoman Yoshiko Masuda says Triumph opted to go with a farming theme this time because of the growing popularity of agriculture among young women. In recent years, Masuda says Japanese models and celebrities have begun farming themselves.
"Over the last year, young Japanese women have taken a tremendous interest in agriculture. We wanted other women to experience farming as well. That's what inspired this bra," said Triumph spokeswoman Yoshiko Masuda.
The plastic bra can be tied together to create a pot. It comes with a pack of soil and seedlings so rice can actually be grown from the lingerie set.
"Home kits that allow people to grow their own rice are very popular online. We thought that it would be fun if a bra could give people the same experience," said Masuda."
The white potted bras aren't for sale but Triumph sees it as a way to generate interest in its brand. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
