Cape Town was the obvious choice for its newest agency. Called the "New Miami" by the fashion industry, the city offers stunning shooting locations as well as support from an already well-developed local fashion industry.
Boss Models claims to have "invented" the male model. Examples like Marcus Schenkenberg are almost as well known as their female supermodel counterparts.
American model, Scott King, who flew in for the launch thought Cape Town was "heaven on earth". Miami based model Charles Andrews said, "what you don't have in Miami is the mountains, and you can change the look here... you have everything in Africa".
Paul West of Boss said that Cape Town has everything to offer from the quickly changing scenery to the incredible pool of talent.
For locally-based photographers it was an unprecedented opportunity to photograph top international models.
Photographer Jean-Marc said that Cape Town needs to be known by the rest of the world. "It's great that all these people are coming out (to South Africa)", he said.
The grand opening party was held at Hemingway's, a Cape Town nightclub.
