- Story Text: The Pan-African Women's Conference wound up its week long discussions in Congo Brazzaville last Friday with a call for equal rights for women. Delegates from 12 African nations and representatives of African nationalist movements attended the conference. Another resolution passed during the conference condemned apartheid and racial discrimination of any kind.
SYNOPSIS: The week long Pan-African Women's Conference has ended in Congo-Brazzaville. The First Secretary of the ruling Congolese Labour Party, Mr. Claude Ndalla, attended the last session of the conference and was warmly applauded by the delegates.
The delegates were treated to a display of African dancing before the final resolutions of the conference were read for approval.
Mrs. Fathia, from Algeria read some of the resolutions. They called for equal rights for women, condemned apartheid and all forms of racial discrimination and demanded all African Governments aid the liberation movements. Delegates from 12 African nations and representative of African nationalist movements attended the conference. In addition there were observers from the Soviet Union, Cuba and the United Nations.
