- Date: 24th March 2011
- Summary: LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES (MARCH 23, 2011) (REUTERS) (SOUNDBITE) (English) COURTENEY COX, SAYING: "Just that it's really sad and she was such an amazing woman. Hopefully she's in a much better place but, she did so much for AIDS and she just was the epitome of what a celebrity should be." (SOUNDBITE) (English) WES CRAVEN, SAYING: "Well, I think it means that Hollywood has lost one of its stellar players, one of the icons of Hollywood. She had that great combination of all the glamor and and the beauty and the jewels of Hollywood but, also, a great heart and soul. Very interested in helping out other people and advocating for AIDS at a time when it was very unpopular, people didn't want to think about it. And, some of the most powerful American films have been made in the last half century. So, I think she had a hell of a life, we'll miss her." (SOUNDBITE) (English) DAVID ARQUETTE, SAYING: "Yeah, I mean, Liz Taylor was such an amazing actress and such an incredible humanitarian. It was a gift for her to be in this world and for us to be able to experience her talents and see what she did with them. I'm always inspired when celebrities and just entertainers in general go out of themselves and push themselves to bring awareness to causes, like she did for AIDS." (SOUNDBITE) (English) ANTHONY ANDERSON, SAYING: "Great loss for Hollywood. She's an icon." (SOUNDBITE) (English) ADAM BRODY, SAYING: "This is true. She is a great icon, it is a great loss and this means I have to go study up on her because the truth of the matter is, I haven't seen a single of her films." (SOUNDBITE) (English) ANTHONY ANDERSON, SAYING: "You haven't?" (SOUNDBITE) (English) ADAM BRODY, SAYING: "No, and I'm not proud of it." (SOUNDBITE) (English) NEVE CAMPBELL, SAYING: "I think it's very sad for Hollywood and for the world that Elizabeth Taylor has passed. But, she lived a phenomenal life and she lived the life she wanted to live, I think. She seemed like she had a lot of fun. She's definitely someone to look up to. Someone told me today she raised two hundred million dollars for AIDS charity in her lifetime and that's a pretty phenomenal thing and also very inspiring."
