- Story Text: A helicopter has crashed on top of a building in the centre of South Africa's tourist mecca of Cape Town, killing all four people on board.
Amateur video, exclusive to Reuters, shows the helicopter being used to deliver an air-conditioning unit. The tail rotor strikes a sign on the building's roof and the aircraft spins out of control and crashes to the ground, bursting into flames.
The crash happened at around 6:25 a.m.(0425 GMT) just before the local rush hour.Firemen managed to put out the blaze on top of the building where the Russian-built Mi-8 helicopter crashed.
They cordoned off the area, just opposite one of the city's luxury hotels.
One of the helicopter's rotor blades was lying in the middle of the road and police said debris from the crash flew across the street and damaged two rooms at the nearby hotel, but nobody was injured. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
