The event debuted at the W hotel in Los Angeles on Tuesday (May 16) featuring new Madonna-related merchandise which will be available in each city that her 'Confessions on a Dance Floor' tour stops. The tour kicks off at the sold out Los Angeles Forum show on Sunday (May 21).
The gallery showcases specially designed limited edition hand painted art canvases and framed photographs by Steven Klein, Jean Baptiste Mondino and other photographers which cover the span of Madonna's entire career.
"I I have worked with Madonna for twenty years now starting with "Like a Virgin" I went to her management and said listen we really want to expand what we do with Madonna this time. There is great imagery all the time we want create great wall art, framed photos, framed lyrics. Really take it to another level combine it with Madonna Confession wine." said Dell Furano the CEO Signatures Network a entertainment licensing and merchandising company. On sale are a series of red and white 'Madonna Wines" including California Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Grigio, and a non alcoholic wine with photographed and hand painted illuminated Madonna labels which range in price from 29 USD to 200 USD. Only 1000 bottles are available of the limited edition release Confessions etched label which is a bottle of 2004 Dry Creek Cabernet Sauvignon which features hand-painted and etched disco lights and the name of Madonna surrounding a die cut high quality adhesive applied image of the star.
"This is a hand etched, hand painted bottle made exclusively for her and the Madonna Confession's tour which starts on Sunday night at the Forum" said Dave Furano, the Madonna Gallery event organizer. Madonna is a international pop culture phenomenon who has sold over 200 million albums world-wide and made strong impact with her visual image in music and fashion for over twenty years.
Dave Furano who was the liaison with Madonna for the visual aspect of the event said that when he met the artist she had a very clear idea of how the images should look but was surprised by how beautiful the wall art turned out and asked to keep a swan David LaChapelle photo for herself.
"I flew to London, there was a time set, I met with her in her home. I set up the presentation. She was friendly, but very focused, she asked a number of questions. She gave her input and thoughts, what she liked, what she did not like," Dave Furano said.
The canvas wall art will be available for purchase at Z Gallerie in the United States and other items will be sold internationally with her tour merchandise. A portion of the proceeds from the sales at the Madonna Gallery will be designated to UNICEF. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
