- Story Text: Zimbabwe has said it will host talks with its
neighbours on the country's deepening land-grab crisis.
Two white women are reported to have been gang-raped and
squatters are said to have turned on black farmworkers.
The scope of the violence wrought by Zimbabwe's war veterans
appears to be widening.
Two white women are reported to have been gang raped at this
cottage south of Harare.
The property was broken into and there was evidence of a
struggle.
Landlord John Dankwert condemned the attack.
LANDLORD, JOHN DANKWERT, SAYING (ENGLISH) "They're terribly
shaken and they're just sleeping, we haven't bothered them at
all.It must have been a dreadful ordeal."
Other reports suggest that black war veterans turned on farm
workers overnight.
Some white farmers travelled in convoy to check homes they
abandoned almost a week ago.
The farm hands who stayed say they were beaten.
Farmers say they found the body of a black foreman missing
since farmer David Stevens was killed on Saturday, raising the
death toll on the farms to four.
The farmers and veterans have begun talks but there is only a
declaration of intent to hold more meetings.
Meanwhile President Mugabe will hold two meetings with the
leaders of South Africa, Namibia and Mozambique to discuss the
land crisis in Zimbabwe and the civil war in Congo.
