Summary:J Edgar Hoover, until his death the head of America's Federal Bureau of Investigation. From the 30's on, the FBI waged a war against crime in the US, a war that was organised by Hoover himself, as the FBI fought the likes of Dillinger on the streets of America. The casualty rate was impressive - but it's worth remembering that the most famous gangster of them all - Al Capone - could only be jailed for income tax fraud!
