- Story Text: Phil, Stu, Alan and Doug are back on the big screen making their way through the streets of Bangkok for the follow-up to the 2009 summer comedy "The Hangover." "The Hangover Part 2" follows three friends and a monkey after a night of drunken folly followed by the search for a missing member of their pack.
Ed Helms, Bradley Cooper and Zach Galifianakis, who all reprise their previous roles, said they were excited to return to the set despite the expectation that most sequels are a box office flop.
"There's pressure. You can't escape that thought because it occurs to everyone, including us," said Helms.
While the on-screen chemistry between all three actors is hard to miss, they openly admitted that their most beloved co-star is Crystal the monkey. The show-stopping capuchin monkey received praise from all her colleagues.
"She's great, Crystal. I had worked with her before and I was happy to have her on my shoulder most of the movie," said Cooper.
"She's smart enough. She's definitely smarter than me. I'm an MD, I'm a doctor but it turned out she's a plastic surgeon, board certified. I think she's a pediatric allergist," said Ken Jeong, who is reprising his role as Mr. Chow. "Yeah, she's better than me in a lot of ways, you know, it's good. She's a mentor in many ways. Monkey mentor."
The release of the film has not been without a few hurdles. Boxer Mike Tyson and his famous face tattoo play a key role in the film, with Ed Helms' character winding up with matching ink. The artist behind the famous tattoo filed suit claiming copyright infringement. On Tuesday (May 24) a judge declined to delay the film's release over the suit.
