- Story Text: American troops in Seoul welcomed a very special guest to their headquarters today (Thursday June 24) when singer Michael Jackson arrived for an autograph session. But the King of Pop was too busy entertaining the troops to join rehearsals for his Friday night concert, which will be held at South Korea's main olympic stadium.
Michael Jackson chose to visit the American military headquarters today (24 June) instead of attending his own concert rehearsals.Soldiers and their families were delighted that the world's number one pop star happily passed time with them, signing autographs.
Fans waited patiently outside the facility and welcomed the singer with hysterical screaming as he made his way inside.
He seemed very relaxed as he sat down and signed pieces of paper, items of clothing and whatever else the soldiers could find for him to sign.Anything that is signed with his coveted autograph is worth a small fortune.
But the show must go on, even if the star himself is not present Rehearsals at Seoul's Olympic Stadium for Jackson's Friday night charity concert are well underway.Actor Steven Seagal took to the stage with his guitar and Hong Kong star, singer and actor Andy Lau, belted out a few of his hits in front of the lucky few that had been granted access to the rehearsals.Only a handful of photographers were allowed to watch and security was very tight.
Elizabeth Taylor and Mariah Carey are amongst a host of stars due to perform, but neither attended the rehearsal session.
In keeping with Jackson's strange requests, a truck was driven around the stadium, spraying disinfectant everywhere in preparation for his performance tomorrow night. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
