- Story Text: Rapper DMX got time off from serving his jail sentence for driving with a suspended license to join his co-star and action movie star Steven Seagal at the Los Angeles premiere of their new movie "Exit Wounds" on Tuesday, March 13.
After taking a three year hiatus from making movies, Steve Seagal is back in action with "Exit Wounds," another explosive blending of martial arts and hip hop cultures from producer Joel Silver.
At Tuesday night's Los Angeles premiere of the film, Silver said it was that combination that propelled last year's film "Romeo Must Die" to success and he hopes to replicate it with "Exit Wounds."
To that end, he matched Seagal up with hardcore rapper DMX, who had a small supporting role in "Romeo Must Die." In "Exit Wounds," DMX is elevated to co-star position as a mysterious drug dealer who may not be the bad guy.
For Seagal, the film was yet another tough guy rebel cop part. But, unlike his other films, this one features him performing graceful vaulting wire work, much like the stunts featured in Silver's "The Matrix" and "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon."
Also on board for comic relief is Tom Arnold, who, much like he did in the Arnold Schwarzenegger hit "True Lies,"
plays Seagal's wacky sidekick.
"Exit Wounds" opens in theaters throughout the United States on Friday, March 16.
