- Story Text: British pop sensation Mel C flew into Moscow to perform live for an MTV show. She denied previous statements that she was leaving the Spice Girls.
Mel C's Moscow outing was her first major appearance since she created bedlam in the pop world on March 09 when she said she was pulling out of the Spice Girls.
She has since distanced herself from the statements, and denied at the press conference in Moscow that she was leaving the group.
"First of all I am not here to talk about Spice Girls. I am here as Melanie C and I am performing live for an MTV show tomorrow and as for the Spice Girls they are still together. I presume I am about to say I am not a subject."
"First thing to be here in Moscow is that I have been very popular with the Spice Girls and here in Russia I have never had a chance or the opportunity to perform live before my fans and I am very exited about that and also I do not know the artists who are performing with me yet but tomorrow is a great opportunity to see them performing with me at the back stage it is going to be great anyway" she said.
Many young Russian teenagers went to see the concert in Moscow's packed Kremlin concert hall, but opinions on Mel C were split.
" I like her singing alone. She has an unusual voice and she is doing well".
"She looks like a cow with tattoo. I think she has to loose her weight"
Well despite that, it looks like Mel C did manage to attract some new fans.
" Now we like her more after the concert. I knew about her when she was with Spice Girls. I had never cared about her but I liked her music."
