For Michael Flatley, the finale of the show is the best part, "You've got 50 dancers on stage dancing as fast as they possibly can, hitting the floor probably 12 to 15 times a second all exactly at the same time, to me that's remarkable that's artistic and it's also athletic and it's beautiful I mean the whole scene is awesome and the sound of that you know that just that rhythm pattern coming across like I said it's, like the Concorde taking off it's so powerful that it makes the people stand up at night."
Flatley's talent as a dancer is only surpassed by his speed. He holds the world record for the most taps per second at no fewer than
He has propelled Irish dance into world consciousness. And an even more astonishing fact is that the show earns more than $100 million dollars in sales, making it one of the hottest dance tickets in the world.
For Flatley it's not the money that's important but the fan adulation and doing what he loves most, "It's like you see Michael Jordan score and you see somebody score at the World Cup soccer you know they slide all over the field they're just glad to be there that's me I'm just happy every day of my life I'm following my dream and it doesn't get any better than that."
"Feet of Flames," kicks off its millennium tour this year.
Costing a staggering five million dollars (USD), the show combines a dazzling brand new set, beautiful costumes and stunning dancers.
