  • Story Text: Icelandic singer Bjork was said to be "distressed" on Wednesday (September 18) after she was told a crazed fan had posted her a booby-trapped parcel and then shot himself.
    The acid-filled parcel, addressed to the south London offices of Bjork's management company Brave, was intercepted after a tip-off from U.S.
    authorities.
    The package, intercepted by post office officials, was designed to spray disfiguring acid in the Icelandic star's face.
    American Ricardo Lopez, 21, recorded its construction and his own violent death on video tape.Miami police said Lopez admitted on tape to being obsessed with Bjork, and referred to her having a relationship with African-American jungle musician Goldie as being "unacceptable." Lopez's body had been found on the floor of his Hollywood apartment on Monday after neighbours reported a foul smell.
    Speaking outside the singer's Maida Vale home, her manager Derek Birkett said police told them a package had been sent to Bjork but not to worry as they had a system designed to deal with it.
    Bjork -- whose full name is Bjork Gudmonsdottir -- is former lead singer for the Sugar Cubes and now performs solo.She is currently in the middle of a world tour.
