- Story Text: FC Bayern Munich prepared on Tuesday (November 19) for their upcoming Bundesliga match against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday (November 23) but not many players appeared on the pitch.
Some of Bayern's international players missed out the training session after they joined the German squad for their international friendly against England at the Wembley stadium in London later on Tuesday.
Bayern Captain Phillip Lam attended the session after being rested by Germany coach Joachim Loew for the friendly against England.
Pep Guardiola's team have been hit recently by injuries. Bastian Schweinsteiger had to undergo surgery while Thiago Alcantara and Arjen Robben have been out of action for weeks.
Bayern fan Carsten Meyer welcomed the decision that some of the Bayern players had been given some rest before the crucial match against their Bundesliga rival Dortmund.
"I see this as an advantage. But it's always a prestige match and the daily form is crucial, but I think there will be clear advantage for Bayern," he said.
Bayern are currently leading the German League with 32 points after 12 matches, four ahead of runners-up Dortmund.
"If all of them play in Dortmund, and get fit again, if no one is hurt today with the national team, I think they can have a balanced match at home, it could be a nice match, which would be nice for all included, maybe exciting and interesting," predicted fan Sascha Grimmeck. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
