- Story Text: Hungary' s newly elected Prime Minister, Viktor Orban was welcomed with a full military parade by his Polish counter part, Donald Tusk on a visit to Warsaw on Tuesday (June 1).
It is the first official visit abroad by Orban since taking office. His government was sworn in on Saturday (May 29).
Orban and Tusk are expected to hold a news conference later on Tuesday.
Orban's government faces the daunting task of breathing new life into an economy that suffered its worst downturn in nearly two decades last year after narrowly avoiding collapse through a 25.1 billion USD IMF-led bailout in October 2008.
The economy is expected to grow by a meagre 0.5 percent this year, lagging a recovery elsewhere in central Europe. Unemployment stands at 11.8 percent, a 17-year high. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
