- Story Text: The final day (Wednesday, 15th August) of the celebration marking the tenth anniversary of the Congolese Revolution was marked in Brazzaville by a parade and a banquet for visiting delegations.
Units from the Congolese Army, Navy and Airforce took part in a ???arch-past. They were followed by members of the congolese People's ???litia and then by children and students and women waving flowers. ???reign delegations came to join in the celebrations, and among those ???tching the parade were Guinea Prime Minister, Mr. Lansana Beavogui, President Bernard Bongo of Gabon, President Ould Daddah of Mauritania and President Idi Amin of Uganda.
In the evening there was a ball attended by ever a thousand people. Among the guests was Miss. Angola Davis, a leading American figure in militant black politics.
President Ngouabi is the second president of the present revolutionary government. He came to power five years ago.
SYNOPSIS: The Chief of Staff, Colonel Yhembi, took the salute.
Later President Ould Daddah praised what he called the 'perfect organisation' of the ceremonies.
In the evening there was a banquet for over a thousand guests.
President Marien Ngeusbi had arranged lavish celebrations in honour of those who died ten years age during the overthrew of President Abbe Fulbert Youlou.
Among those at the banquet were Angola Davis, the militant black American leader, Agostinho Neto, President of the Angolan Freedom Movement, and Marcellino des Santes of the Frelimo guerrilla movement.
