- Story Text: Groups from Ramallah and Jericho, Hebron and East Jerusalem, Nablus and Tulkarem and many smaller towns, 250-300 people in all, are leaving tonight, around midnight, for a long journey through Sinai to Egypt. The number was limited by the number of hotel-rooms available in Cairo but those who went will speak for hundreds and hundreds more who wish to show support for President Sadat and his policies, thank him for his peace initiative and express their gratitude to him for having become the champion of their cause. This is by far the strongest anti-PLO movement since 1967, when the PLO's refusal, along with Arab statesmen of the rejection front, to negotiate or even recognising the existence of the State of Israel, made it a very popular movement among Palestinian Arabs. But today the tables are turned and the Arabs of the West Bank, or at least the majority of them, is as keenly looking forward to peaceful coexistence with Israel as Egypt seems to be. Before boarding the bus, many of the delegates expressed their hopes and beliefs.- At El-Arish all busses from all over the West Bank will meet up and start their journey through the desert.
