A bakery in Hong Kong claimed on September 6 that it had made the world's largest mooncake - a traditional Chinese pastry for the mid-Autumn festival. Tommy Luk, a spokesman for the bakery, said the 500-pound (225-kilogram) mooncake, which was six feet (two metres) in diameter, would serve more than 2,000 people at four homes for the elderly during the festival which falls on September 18 this year. Made of lotus seeds and nearly 1,000 egg yolks, the mooncake took six bakers six hours to make, but only one hour to bake in a giant oven. It was displayed at Hong Kong's City Plaza.
