- Story Text: China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi arrived in Algeria for a series of formal talks on Saturday (December 21).
His Algerian counterpart Ramtane Lamamra welcomed him on his arrival in capital Algiers at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Chinese and Algerian foreign ministers discussed several issues during the conference, such as the situation in Syria and the Middle East.
The Chinese Foreign Minister said a Chinese electrical company was soon to build a factory in Algeria.
"My colleagues just told me that a well-known Chinese electrical company is preparing to build a joint venture appliance factory with Algerian partners in Algeria. I think this will directly improve Algeria's manufacturing capacity," he said.
According to local media, Wang Yi, on his first visit to Algeria, declared that the two countries have maintained "very good" bilateral relations for more than fifty years. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
